GDPR is the European law protecting your data. Here are your rights on RentMe and how to use them. Most actions are available directly in your account — no lawyer required.
Your rights
Request a copy of all data we hold about you. Response within 30 days.
Name, phone, avatar — fix them yourself in /account/settings. Other fields — via support.
"Delete account" in settings. Financial records are kept for 7 years (Estonian tax law).
Ask us to temporarily "freeze" processing while we look into your request.
We export your booking history and listings as JSON — take them anywhere.
Disable marketing emails and analytics in one click — at /account/settings/notifications.
How to exercise your rights
- Self-service (fastest): /account/settings — export, deletion and notification settings live there.
- By email: info@rentme.rent. Include the account email and what you want. We respond within 30 days.
- If unsatisfied — file a complaint with Andmekaitse Inspektsioon (Estonian supervisory authority) or the authority in your EU country.
Controller and DPO
RentMe OÜ is the Data Controller for all user data. At launch a dedicated Data Protection Officer (DPO) is not legally required, but info@rentme.rent is the single entry point for all data requests.
International transfers
All core servers and databases are in the EU. Payment providers (Stripe) may process payments in the US — this is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses and EU-US Data Privacy Framework certification.
Data breaches
In case of an incident threatening user rights, we notify Andmekaitse Inspektsioon within 72 hours and affected users without undue delay.
One email and it all arrives
Write to info@rentme.rent with subject "Data request" and your account email. We send the full JSON archive within 30 days.
